Wally CO2 incubatorSmall labs that have wanted to add a CO2 incubator, but haven’t been able to due to lack of space are now in luck with the recent release of Caron’s Wally CO2 incubator. The new unit has a wall-hugging design that opens up crowded hallways and aisles, improving workflows in tight lab environments. Wally’s slim profile also cuts out wasted shelf space, giving users almost twice the usable culture area of existing incubators.

“Wally is a technical and applications tour de force on many levels,” commented Steve Keiser, Caron chairman. “It’s the first truly new CO2 incubator in over 50 years; offering breakthrough user benefits you just can’t get anywhere else.”

In addition to the space-saving features, Wally also provides a high level of culture quality assurance with its patent-pending GelJacket technology that offers the thermal protection of a water jacket, but none of the hassle; standard ISO5 chamber HEPA air filtration; and optional two-hour H2O2 chamber sterilization for total contamination elimination in a fraction of the time of heat-based cycles. The sterilization cycle is also energy efficient, consuming almost no power as it uses a proven and naturally decomposing sterilant to achieve validatable chamber sterilization in under two hours.

And the new incubator is easy to use with no-touch door opening, smart glass culture space viewing, and easier culture access, all of which minimize required user interaction, leaving more time for research.
