Eugene Oga is a PhD candidate in analytical chemistry at the University of North Dakota and a research and development scientist and laboratory manager at Singularity Energy Technologies. With a background in materials chemistry and academic leadership, Oga specializes in thermochemical processes, biomass pyrolysis, and advanced chromatographic analysis. He is a recognized leader in laboratory safety and stewardship; notably, he improved chemical waste protocols at UND and has facilitated workshops for the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Chemical Health and Safety.

Oga is deeply involved in professional service, currently chairing the ACS Red River Valley Local Section Younger Chemists Committee and serving on several national ACS committees. His work has earned numerous honors, including the RESOLVE Excellence Challenge Award and the UND Lilian Elsinga Outstanding Leadership Award. Most notably, he is the 2026 recipient of the Lab Manager Leadership Excellence Award for Overall Lab Manager Excellence, reflecting his commitment to safety-centered leadership and the advancement of reliable scientific practice.
