Neuroscience Symposium to Take Place at University of Delaware Dec 6
University to host neuroscience research symposium, poster session.
1:49 p.m., Dec. 3, 2013--The sixth annual Delaware Neuroscience Research and Poster Symposium will be held Friday, Dec. 6, at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute at the University of Delaware.
Sponsored by the Delaware Center for Neuroscience Research and the Delaware Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience, the symposium and poster session will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will conclude with the announcement of poster award winners and the 2013 Neuroscientist of the Year from at 5:45 p.m.
The symposium will feature talks by prominent neuroscientists, including keynote speaker Samuel Wang, associate professor of molecular biology at Princeton University and author of Welcome to Your Brain and Welcome to Your Child’s Brain. He will speak at 11 a.m. on “The Cerebellum, Sensitive Periods, and Autism.”
Other speakers will be David M. Diamond, professor of psychology at the University of South Florida, at 1:10 p.m. and Michele Jacob, professor of neuroscience at Tufts University, at 2:30 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded to the top poster presenters in undergraduate and graduate student categories.
