  • Combines the desirable properties of advanced ceramics with a blade that is safe to the touch
  • Free of oil or other coatings, chemically inert, non-sparking, non-conductive, and never rust
  • Cuts effectively, but is much safer to touch than standard scalpels

R&D labs, clean rooms and biomedical facilities have stringent rules to protect the integrity of the work done there. Sterilization is key and contamination is the enemy. Slice® introduces a tool that protects workers while protecting the work.

The Slice 10574 Disposable Scalpel features our finger-friendly® blade. This gamma-sterilized, individually wrapped tool combines the desirable properties of advanced ceramics with a blade that is safe to the touch. Slice blades are: free of oil or other coatings, chemically inert, non-sparking, non-conductive, and never rust. In addition, the 10574 scalpels are non-magnetic and metal free, making them an ideal tool for MRI rooms.

"When workers are handling chemicals and biohazardous materials, the importance of preventing lacerations grows exponentially. Something as small as a paper cut is the perfect spot for pathogens to enter the bloodstream. Slice ceramic scalpels reduce that risk significantly with our patent-pending blade grind, which cuts effectively, but is much safer to touch than standard scalpels," said TJ Scimone, Slice founder and CEO

For labs that don’t require pre-sterilized tools, the 10568 Ceramic Scalpel offers an alternative. This tool is autoclave safe and uses a variety of replaceable craft blades—all finger friendly—for specialty tasks.
