COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 1, 2012) – METTLER TOLEDO will offer a one day thermal analysis seminar with focus on pharmaceuticals at the W Chicago City Center on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.
This seminar is one of three segment-based seminars solely focused on high impact best practices, thermal analysis sample preparation and curve interpretation skills. Regardless of the experience level or brand of instrumentation the information provided will enhance knowledge on thermal analysis and productivity in the lab.
Additional one day seminar offerings include Thermoplastics (June 27, 2012) and Thermosets/Elastomers (June 28, 2012).
Registration and Information
The seminar takes place 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on June 26, 2012, and will be hosted by Dr. Rudolf Riesen of METTLER TOLEDO. Breakfast, lunch, valet parking and course materials provided. Registration is $395 per day but receive a $50 discount for early registration prior to June 12th 2012. In addition, attendees will receive the Thermal Analysis in Practice hardcover text book (325pp.) and the Pharmaceuticals application booklet (100pp.) a $400 value just for attending the seminar.

About the Speaker
Dr. Rudolf Riesen was born in 1948 in Sumiswald, Switzerland. Dr. Riesen studied chemical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Zurich (ETH) and completed his Ph.D. at the same University on the topic “characterization of a stirrer system for the chemical industry”. Dr. Riesen started his employment with Mettler-Toledo AG in Switzerland in 1978 as an application chemist. Throughout his career with METTLER TOLEDO, Dr. Riesen has worked in R&D to develop the microprocessor controlled thermal analysis system TA3000 including new DSC, TMA and TGA cells. In addition, he has provided worldwide application support for TA3000 and RC1 and managed the market support group for thermal analysis and rheology. Most recently and in his current position, Dr. Riesen is the Senior Applications Specialist for thermal analysis at METTLER TOLEDO. Number of publications: 26. Dr. Riesen is a member of the following professional associations: ICTAC (since 1990), NATAS (since 1992), STK (since 1981); the Board of STK (Swiss Society of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry) (since 1992).
