SLAS Now Accepting Abstract Submissions for Presentations at Second Annual SLAS Conference and Exhibition
The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) is now accepting abstract submissions for podium and poster presentations at SLAS2013.
CHICAGO – The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), a non-profit scientific organization focused on encouraging the study and advancement of laboratory science and technology, is now accepting abstract submissions for podium and poster presentations at SLAS2013, the Second Annual SLAS Conference and Exhibition, January 12-16, at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL, USA.
SLAS encourages academicians, research scientists, engineers and business leaders to submit their abstracts for consideration, and showcase their important research on a global stage at SLAS2013. Areas of focus include drug discovery and development, informatics, clinical diagnostics, food and agricultural sciences, forensics and security sciences, petrochemicals and energy, and consumer products. Abstracts submitted should align with one of the following SLAS2013 educational tracks:
- Assay Development and Screening
- Bioanalytical Techniques
- Diagnostics
- Drug Target Biology
- High-Throughput Technologies
- Informatics
- Micro/Nano Technologies
Abstracts submissions from academia, government and industry are welcome. Detailed track descriptions are posted at SLAS2013.org, and individual session topics will be available in June.
All podium presentation submissions selected to be part of SLAS2013 will be eligible to receive the prestigious SLAS Innovation Award. Extensively reviewed and chosen by the SLAS Innovation Award panel of judges, the award is a $10,000 cash prize that will be given to the most exceptional podium presentation at SLAS2013.
In addition, graduate students, post-doctoral associates and junior faculty submitting abstracts for consideration may be eligible for special travel support through the Tony B. Academic Travel Award program.

- Tony B. Academic Travel Award (Podium): Monday, July 30, 2012
- Tony B. Academic Travel Award (Poster): Monday, September 17, 2012
- Poster abstract (For inclusion in the Final Program): Friday, October 26, 2012
- Poster abstract (Final deadline): Monday, December 31, 2012
