PROVIDENCE, RI — A ready-to-use, liquid stable microprotein standard kit is now available from Verichem Laboratories. This unique product is intended for the calibration, or calibration verification, of total protein and albumin concentrations in both urine and cerebral spinal fluid (CFS). The five level set provides 10 individual certified concentrations, in an azide-free liquid format, where all concentrations are assigned by definitive procedures using human protein components of known purity. Accurate measurement of micro-protein and micro-albumin levels in the clinical laboratory are extremely useful in the early detection of kidney damage, especially in individuals who are at risk, such as those with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, or high blood pressure. As such, the availability of these materials is certain to address the needs of a wide variety of laboratory professionals, including those involved with clinical testing, medical research applications, and in the development and manufacturing of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products.

Suitable for use with both turbidimetric and colorimetric testing methodologies, Verichem Laboratories' Microprotein Standard Kit incorporates human protein components for optimum reactivity.  Each of the certified gravimetric concentration levels of these standards employs a distinctive set point design with equidistant target concentrations in order to address the current CLIA requirements for clinical system accuracy, sensitivity, linearity, and reportable range. Verichem Laboratories' Micoprotein Standard Kit is conveniently packaged as a five level set of material, with 15 milliliters at each level. The materials are filled in easy-to-use, translucent polyethylene dropper vials and offer an outstanding shelf-life stability claim of 24 months from date of manufacture when stored refrigerated at temperatures of 2° to 8°C.  Plus, a certificate of analysis is included with each kit indicating traceability to available NIST and/or ERM® standard reference materials.
