This webinar will focus on design considerations for lab ventilation and proper placement when installing chemical fume hoods.  The presentation will touch on the design differences of major types of chemical fume hoods and briefly discuss their features and functions.  Important key issues regarding general lab ventilation and exhaust ducts are covered in detail.  OSHA standards and other applicable guidelines and regulations including NFPA are also discussed.

Vince McLeod is an American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certified Industrial Hygienist and the senior IH with EFI Global – Orlando and Ascend Environmental and Health Hygiene. Mr. McLeod has more than 35 years’ experience in industrial hygiene and environmental engineering services, including 28 years with the University of Florida’s Environmental Health & Safety Division.  Current areas of practice focus on developing and implementing comprehensive industrial hygiene programs in Indoor Air Quality, Process Safety, Exposure Assessments, Hazard Evaluation, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry and Hearing Conservation among others.  Mr. McLeod’s primary strength is conducting exposure assessments and hazard evaluations. Mr. McLeod’s consulting project experience includes comprehensive IH assessments for municipalities, universities, power generation utilities, manufacturing, production and distribution facilities.  He is a contributing columnist and Webinar presenter for Lab X Media Group.
