Applying Centrifugal Partition Chromatography to Downstream Bioprocessing

Process an input sample to reach 95 percent purity and high recovery in a single step

Fermentation allows for the conversion of organic materials into relatively simple substances by using microorganisms such as bacteria, Streptomyces, filamentous fungi, or yeast. Fermentation has also proven to be an efficient way to reduce the use of solvents and avoid disruptions resulting from variations in plant source quality. As with other processes, each step can be expensive, hence a strong incentive to extract and purify the active compound from the nutritive solution in the most direct way.

This application note demonstrates how centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC) outperforms prep HPLC for purity and costs for fermentation broth provided by a global chemical company.
