Distek, Inc., a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical laboratory instrumentation, has introduced a new Online Instrument Configurator designed to simplify system planning and accelerate the quote request process for laboratories worldwide.

Accessible through the company’s website, the tool allows users to build detailed instrument configurations and submit them directly to Distek. “Configure Now” buttons embedded on product pages enable lab professionals to begin designing systems while exploring available instrumentation.

Simplifying Instrument Configuration for Lab Managers

By capturing complete configuration details early in the process, the configurator helps laboratories clearly define their requirements while enabling faster and more accurate responses from Distek.

“The configurator provides a convenient way for customers to build the system they need and submit a detailed request in minutes,” said Sean Gilmore, Sr. Marketing Communications Manager. “It simplifies the system design process and helps ensure the final solution aligns with the laboratory’s specific requirements.”

For lab managers overseeing equipment selection and budgeting, this approach reduces back-and-forth communication and supports more efficient decision-making.

Supporting Flexible Planning and Lab Upgrades

The platform is designed to support both new installations and upgrades to existing lab environments. Registered users can include multiple instruments within a single request, making it easier to plan comprehensive system updates.

Key capabilities include:

  • Building customized instrument configurations based on lab needs
  • Combining multiple instruments into a single quote request
  • Including trade-in equipment from Distek or other manufacturers
  • Generating a structured, detailed request for internal planning

The ability to include trade-in instruments provides additional context for labs replacing legacy systems or equipment that has reached end of support.

Streamlining the Quote Request Process

Once a configuration is completed, the system generates a PDF quote request that is automatically sent to both the user and Distek.

Each submission includes full configuration details and is routed to the appropriate Distek account manager based on the requester’s location, helping ensure timely follow-up and continuity in communication.

For lab managers, the result is a more streamlined procurement workflow, with clearer specifications, faster turnaround times, and improved alignment between lab needs and vendor solutions.
