A lab’s ability to deliver for stakeholders ensures its ability to survive and thrive. It is essential that stakeholders trust the data and results provided by the lab. The lab’s quality program is established to ensure that the lab’s processes, procedures, materials, and behaviors are in control to deliver a consistent product. The quality manager has the responsibility to drive this process. Keys to success for the quality manager is to empower staff, build a culture of quality, and influence staff to work in a compliant manner.
Most lab quality leaders start as lab scientists. The excellence of their technical work and their interest in ensuring the delivery of high-quality output earn them the role. However, many have little experience in the formal aspects of a quality program and only have been exposed to the different parts of a quality program based on what their predecessor thought was important. To address this need, we have developed a fully online e-learning program to help quality leaders learn the skills required to be successful in the role. This program provides a lab quality management certificate and can be beneficial to brand new quality leaders, those aspiring to quality management, and experienced quality managers wishing to brush up on aspects of the role.
As an attendee, you will learn more about:
- Developing a culture of quality
- Aspects of a quality management system
- Analysis, improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Specific quality methods like documentation and qualification
- Data integrity, review, and auditing
- Staff training
