Speakers

Dr. Estelle Riché is senior scientist in the Application group of the Lab Water business field of Merck Millipore, a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, known as EMD Millipore in the USA and Canada. She holds an Engineering degree in Chemistry from ESCOM (France), and a PhD degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA). She was a Research Professor in the School of Dentistry at UNC for four years before joining Merck Millipore in St Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, nine years ago. Her interests include understanding the potential impact of water contaminants on the results of analytical and biological experiments.

Joe Plurad joined EMD Millipore in 2001 where he served as product marketing manager for North America responsible for lab-scale water purification products. Over the past 15 years, Joe’s roles have included both marketing and communications responsibilities for the Bioscience, Process Solutions and Lab Water businesses at EMD Millipore. In his current role as North America Field Marketing Manager, Joe helps to implement strategies in the field by building awareness and providing tools and support for the US and Canadian markets. Joe also provides feedback and insights on the North American customers back to the business area to support future product development. Joe has a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Boston College. Prior to joining EMD Millipore, Joe held marketing, tech support, and application development roles at Brinkmann Instruments, a former import agent for several Swiss and German laboratory equipment and instrument manufacturers.
