Azenta Life Sciences has introduced two groundbreaking camera-based tube readers under the Ziath brand portfolio: Mirage Connect and Cube Connect. Both products aim to modernize cryogenic sample management with full network capabilities and advanced automation integration.

Streamlining Lab Automation with DP5 V2.0 Software

Powered by the new DataPaq™ DP5 V2.0 software, Mirage Connect and Cube Connect simplify setup, support mobile app control, and enable seamless REST API integration. These features make both systems highly compatible with a broad range of laboratory informatics and automated workflows.

Mirage Connect is engineered for frozen sample handling and robotic platforms. With its compact, low-profile design, the device excels in tight spaces and delivers enhanced performance with a 16-megapixel camera. A standout feature is its integrated networking capability via RJ45, allowing operation without a dedicated DC power supply. Additional highlights include:

  • Passive cryo-protection to reduce fogging and condensation
  • Integrated Cyclops barcode reader
  • Compatibility with 24, 48, 96, 240, and high-density rack formats

Cube Connect, launching soon, is tailored for larger-format cryo racks, including 14x14, 81-position, and 100-position boxes. Key upgrades over its predecessor include:

  • Dual 12-megapixel cameras for high-resolution scanning
  • Fully network-enabled with USB-C and RJ45 connectivity
  • Compact, durable metal casing
  • Passive cryo-protection and integrated Cyclops barcode reading

Future-Proofing Sample Management

"With Mirage Connect and Cube Connect, we are responding to the growing demand for network-ready, cryo-compatible tube readers that support scalable and integrated laboratory environments," said Alexis MacLeod, Global Product Manager. "These products not only replace multiple existing readers, but also future-proof labs for the increasing push towards automation and remote operability."

MacLeod added, "With these new product introductions, Azenta reinforces its leadership in coded sample management solutions, delivering reliable, connected, and efficient tools that empower researchers and laboratory professionals worldwide."

Azenta’s Mirage Connect and Cube Connect tube readers mark a significant advancement in cryo-capable, automated sample management technology—streamlining processes and enhancing lab productivity for the modern scientific environment.
