Brown University has entered into an official research affiliation with Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee.
The collaboration connects researchers at Brown with those at Oak Ridge. The agreement will allow Brown faculty to conduct research and use equipment at Oak Ridge, which is owned by the Department of Energy and managed by the University of Tennessee-Battelle.
Brown Vice President for Research Clyde Briant said the relationship was forged to present more opportunities for people at Brown and Oak Ridge.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory was founded as part of the Manhattan Project with about 4,500 employees. It is known for having a state-of-the-art neutron facility.
