- Provides the precision on glass with the safety of a Mylar® over-wrap
- Ideal for isolating plasma in small animal studies since the amount of blood extracted is significantly reduced
- Plasma gel migrates during centrifugation between blood and plasma, forming a barrier for easily dispensing the full amount of pure plasma
Drummond Scientific Company, a leading laboratory instrument supplier, has introduced a new plasma gel separation capillary tube. These tubes provide the precision of glass with the safety provided by a Mylar® over-wrap. Ideal for isolating plasma in small animal studies since the amount of blood extracted is significantly reduced (up to 70 microliters).
Placed within the tube’s ID is a small amount of thixotropic gel, which has a specific gravity between that of plasma and the cellular components of whole blood. The plasma gel migrates during centrifugation between blood and plasma forming a barrier for easily dispensing the full amount of pure plasma.
Drummond Scientific has been manufacturing a wide range of microdispensers, microinjectors, micropipettes, pipette controllers, and innovative liquid handling tools for the laboratory for 70 years.
