BOHEMIA, N.Y. – (January 11, 2012) – Microbiology incubators from BINDER Inc. provide consistent condi-tions over time and are offered in a range of sizes and models for use in all applications. Units in the BD, BF and KB lines incorporate the world-class engineering for which the company is known, including APT.line™ preheat-ing-chamber technology.
APT.line technology gives the units an integrated, high-performance system in which deflectors ensure that the entire air stream flows over the heating or cooling element and enters the inner chamber through a specially optimized arrangement of side-wall openings, a process that ensures homogeneity and eliminates turbulence.
BINDER BD series gravity convection incubators enable continuous operation, and are ideal for the gentle incubation of organisms, as well as for conditioning heat-sensitive media. They are offered in six capacities from 0.7 to 25.4 cu/ft and, at 37 °C, temperature variation is 0.5 °C, temperature fluctuation is 0.1 °C and recovery time after a 30-second door opening is 5 minutes. Available options include a shaker platform and access ports.
Mechanical convection incubators in the BF series, available in five volumes from 1.9 to 25.4 cu/ft, are suitable for demanding tasks, particularly for full loads and large batches, and provide optimal homogeneous conditions and quick recovery times. At 37 °C temperature variation is 0.4 °C, temperature fluctuation is 0.2 °C and recovery time after a 30-second door opening is 1 minute. With their comprehensive program functions, KB series cooled incubators offer a wide range of capabilities and deliver reproducible test results. These units are available in six capacities from 0.7 to 25.4 cu/ft and deliver tem-peratures in the range of -5 °C to 100 °C (model KB 23 has a 0 to 100 °C range). At 4 °C temperature variation is 0.7 °C, temperature fluctuation is 0.2 °C and recovery time after a 30-second door opening is 5 minutes.
All units offer a 100 °C disinfection routine; temperature range of −5 to 100 °C (except the KB 23, as noted); two-point closure on outer door; an inner glass door; and FDA compliant APT-COM™ software.
