BILLERICA, Mass.- Millipore announced this week it is launching a series of new products designed to provide scientists and laboratory professionals with economical and reliable sources of highly purified water.

The Company's Laboratory Water Business Unit is one of four business units in Millipore's Bioscience Division, which helps to improve productivity and results in clinical, analytical and research laboratories. Purified water is the most common reagent used in scientific experimentation. The presence of impurities can have an adverse impact on experimental outcomes, increase costs, and decrease productivity for laboratory researchers.

"We play a critical role in all forms of research since our laboratory water products are present in every major laboratory in the world," said Dominique Baly, President of Millipore's Bioscience Division. "Water is one of the most common forms of contamination in scientific experiments."

Over the past two years, Millipore's laboratory water business unit has accelerated its growth dramatically due to new product introductions and an increased presence in international markets, Baly said.

Millipore systems employ a variety of purification and monitoring technologies that match the needs of various customer applications. The Company recently launched Direct-Q and Milli-Q Advantage, calling it "one of the most successful new product launches in the company's history."

Additionally, Millipore plans to release further platform improvements over the next few years. The Company also has an extensive team of service professionals who understand water requirements and the impact on a variety of applications. These technical experts offer installation, technical assistance, training, calibration, validation support and customized maintenance for customers.
