In recent years, a growing number of contract research organizations (CRO) have invested in continuous flow chemistry technology to improve their capabilities in terms of evaluating different synthetic routes for compound development and to improve existing batch manufacturing processes. In a new interview, Dr. Hai Le, head of flow chemistry at US contract research organization Adesis Inc., details how his group is using Uniqsis flow chemistry technology to identify chemical transformations that may take advantage of flow chemistry principles including rapid heat and mass transfer, then using the automation capability of the systems to quickly survey tens to hundreds of reaction combinations to identify the best conditions in terms of yield and economics to synthesize compounds of critical importance to their customers.
