TAP Biosystems has appointed six new distributors including Bio-Reach, based in Beijing and covering Northern China, as well as Zil Sci Pte Ltd in Singapore and Aurora Biotech Ltd in Taiwan. Under the terms of the agreements, distributors will market and support TAP Biosystems’ portfolio of products, which includes the advanced micro bioreactor system (ambr™) and Fill-It™ automated dispensing system in their assigned regions.

In Japan, TAP Biosystems will continue its successful distribution agreement with GE Healthcare Japan Corporation (www.gelifesciences.co.jp).

TAP Biosystems and its distributors are organising ambr seminars around Asia during August, which will take place in the Beijing region of China, Korea and Singapore. During these seminars, TAP Biosystems’ ambr experts will introduce the ambr technology and present performance data. They will also have live system demonstrations and answer technical questions.

Phillip Sefton, TAP’s Commercial Director stated: “We are pleased that in just six months we have been able to put in place such an extensive network of partners specialising in bioreactor and cell culture products. We are also looking to add distributors in Malaysia and Thailand, to further increase TAP Biosystems’ footprint in this region.”

Sefton added: “South East Asia is a rapidly developing market for vaccine and biosimilar production and our automated bioprocessing and cell processing technology will help improve throughput in both these applications. Our new distributor network will offer scientists in South East Asia access to applications and technical experts, who will explain how the ambr system for example, could enhance the quality of their research, as well as significantly improve the productivity of their manufacturing processes, thus providing them with a competitive edge for their biologics and vaccines.”
