Vicon Publishing to Launch Lab Manager Magazine in 2006

November 2, 2005 — [Amherst, NH] — Lab Manager Magazine will launch Lab Manager MagazineTM in March 2006 with its April/May 2006 issue, it was announced today by Patrick Murphy, President of Lab Manager Magazine and Publisher of the new publication. The magazine will debut at Pittcon 2006, to be held March 12-17, 2006 in Orlando, Florida.

Lab Manager Magazine strives to provide the most current thinking and trends in all areas of laboratory management. The publication’s goal is to help lab managers of every discipline balance good administrative practices with good science in order to promote scientific analysis and discovery. The editorial content of the magazine includes topics relating to management, technology, and equipment common to laboratories in industry, government, medicine, research, academia, and biotechnology.

Patrice Galvin has been named Chief Editor of Lab Manager Magazine, with Dr. Barbara VanRenterghem as Science Editor. Christine Janson and Mary Williams will serve as Editors.

The magazine’s editorial advisory board includes: Wayne Collins of ThermoElectron Corporation, Lyn Faas of Seattle Public Utilities, Glenn Ketcham, CIH of the University of Florida, Mary Keville of Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories, Vince McLeod, CIH of the University of Florida, and John L. Tonkinson, Ph.D. of Epitome Systems, Inc.

Lab Manager Magazine will start publishing bi-monthly in 2006 and will increase its frequency to monthly in 2007. It will launch with 30,000 subscribers and is available free of charge to qualified industry professionals.
