This webinar will cover the most important aspects of an effective lab safety program. The program will open with discussion on policy elements contained in the OSHA Lab and Hazard Communication Standards distilled down to the essentials and conveyed in concise and easily understood terms. Following coverage of the OSHA standards the course moves into a larger section on dealing with chemicals–everything from developing a beginning inventory to storage, waste collection, and disposal. The chemical discussion is followed with a shorter section on general lab safety equipment and facilities. The course finishes with a discussion on regular self-inspections and safety audits.

Vince McLeod is an American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certified Industrial Hygienist and the senior IH with Ascend Environmental. Mr. McLeod has more than 35 years’ experience in industrial hygiene and environmental engineering services, including 28 years with the University of Florida’s Environmental Health & Safety Division. His primary strength is conducting exposure assessments and hazard evaluations. Mr. McLeod’s consulting project experience includes comprehensive IH assessments for major power generation, manufacturing, production, and distribution facilities.
