Ben Shapiro
Ben joined USP in 2020 and leads the Digital Standards unit, overseeing the development and commercialization of digital standards and technology solutions that help scientists and quality professionals ensure the quality of medicines. His work spans structured digital documentary standards, digital reference standards, implementation policy frameworks, and the partnerships and regulatory engagements that support their adoption.
Earlier in his time at USP, Ben developed quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) software for NMR analysis applications in pharmaceutical R&D, quality control, process chemistry, and analytical chemistry. He also launched the Medicine Supply Map, a supply chain intelligence product providing visibility into the generic pharmaceutical supply chain and drug shortage risks, which has been referenced in U.S. Senate testimony and by the Domestic Policy Council.
