Steve Saxe, PhD

Steve holds a BS in physics from San Diego State University and PhD in optical sciences from the University of Arizona. His first position after graduate school was in new technology development with 3M Company, where he ultimately spent 26 years in a wide variety of technology, product, and business development positions. His technical expertise ranges from the optics of thin films to complex, mixed-technology new product development. Steve is also well versed in strategy development, global partnerships, and he is a Design for Six Sigma Black Belt. In 2011, he joined VIAVI in Santa Rosa, CA, as a product line manager. He is now responsible for several thin film product lines including polarization, infrared, and the MicroNIR instrument product line. In his spare time, Steve cycles, plays piano, and is an amateur photographer.
