Celebrating the industry’s greatest achievements

Sudbury, UK – 17th May 2012 – Select Biosciences is pleased to announce the nominees for the second annual European Life Science Awards. The awards ceremony will celebrate the very best of the industry’s achievements and precedes the Second European Lab Automation (ELA) conference and exhibition taking place from 30th- 31st May at the adjoining Congress Centre Hamburg (CCH).

Nominated by their peers for awards in one of seven scientific and commercial categories, the finalists are as follows:

Research Group of the Year Sponsored by the Society of Biology

  • Prof. Francesca Cutruzzolà, Sapienza University of Rome: Studying the structure and function of proteins by protein engineering, kinetics and crystallography
  • Dr Mark Saville, University of Dundee: Studying the regulation of the p53 pathway by ubiquitination and deubiquitination, in addition tothe role of ubiquitin-like molecules in the p53 pathway
  • Dr Andrew Marks, Columbia University Medical Centre: Studying the structure and function relationships of ion channel macromolecular complexes

The remaining two categories, Business Leader of the Year and Most Innovative New Service, will be announced on the night. Judged by leading figures from industry and academia, the winners will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held on the evening of 29th May at the Radisson Blu hotel, Hamburg, Germany.
