The Lab Manager Leadership Excellence Awards were created to honor individuals who exhibit exceptional leadership skills, foster a culture of innovation, and inspire their teams to excel in their respective fields. The awards spotlight those who go above and beyond in their roles, providing a platform for lab professionals to be recognized for their contributions to advancing laboratory science and operations.

Exciting expansion for 2025
This year, we're excited to expand the awards program to include two new categories: the Safety Excellence Award and the Sustainability Excellence Award. These new categories reflect our commitment to recognizing leaders who prioritize safety protocols and sustainability practices in their labs. The Safety Excellence Award honors lab leaders who set high standards for safety, while the Sustainability Excellence Award highlights those who implement environmentally responsible practices and foster a culture of sustainability.
Recognition for outstanding leaders
Winners of the 2025 Lab Manager Leadership Excellence Awards will receive special recognition at the upcoming Lab Manager Leadership Summit, during an awards ceremony taking place April 8 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Winners will also be featured in a dedicated article on LabManager.com, giving them a platform to share their success stories and insights with the broader laboratory community.
How to craft a strong nomination
A strong nomination includes specific examples of the nominee’s leadership and its impact on their lab. We encourage nominators to provide concrete stories of how the individual has driven positive change, improved processes, or led their teams through challenging projects. A good submission should also describe how the nominee embodies qualities like vision, communication, and the ability to inspire others. Remember, the more detailed and descriptive the nomination is, the better it will illustrate the nominee's excellence.
