The new Thermo Scientific Dionex UltiMate 3000 Electrochemical Detector Is Designed to Deliver the Sensitivity and Selectivity Needed to Analyze Neurotransmitters, Pharmaceuticals and Complex Biological Samples with the Speed and Resolution of UHPLC

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2012) - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today introduced the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ UltiMate™ 3000 Electrochemical Detector, making the benefits of UHPLC separation available with electrochemical detection. Electrochemical detection delivers: the high analytical sensitivity needed to measure neurotransmitters, the robustness for analyzing pharmaceutical compounds, and the selectivity for characterizing complex samples such as supplements, beverages, and biological samples.

Compatible with the current family of Thermo Scientific Dionex Ultimate 3000 EC-optimized HPLC and UHPLC systems, this detector features the next generation of coulometric and amperometric sensors designed for simple, flexible and low-maintenance operation. Coulometric sensors are known for their stability, and low maintenance. Amperometric sensors are chosen for their high analytical sensitivity, even with precious, volume-limited samples.

SmartChipTM intelligence automatically configures the instrument and optimizes control when an electrochemical sensor is attached. Plug-and-play electrochemical cells virtually eliminate noise and lengthy cable connections. Sensors are exchangeable from the front of the detector without special tools, simplifying routine set-up and maintenance. Full-scale signal autoranging helps protect data integrity by reducing peak over-ranging. The UltiMate 3000 Electrochemical detector can be used with gradients for method flexibility and high analytical sample throughput.
