Lab Manager is thrilled to announce the return of its Leadership Excellence Awards, a program developed to recognize individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and management skills within their scientific organizations.

Based on the success of the inaugural 2022 Leadership Excellence Awards—with nearly 200 submissions and an in-depth judging process—the Lab Manager team was eager to revamp the program and once again honor laboratory leaders who go above and beyond for their organizations.

Winners will be recognized at the 2023 Lab Manager Leadership Summit, taking place in College Park, MD, April 24-26. They will earn free admission to attend the event, receive featured coverage published by Lab Manager, and a plaque and digital badge to share their accomplishment with their network.

Earning recognition as a Leadership Excellence Award winner can boost workplace morale, renew motivation, and help you evolve in your role and further your career. Winner of the 2022 Young Lab Manager Excellence Award says,  “I was surprised and honored to win this award! I work with an incredible group of people and it means a lot that they would nominate me.” Todd McEvoy, winner of the 2022 Overall Lab Manager Excellence Award, shared a similar reaction: “Truthfully, it floored me. It caused me to sit back and reflect on my experiences, specifically the past two years. I am extremely grateful for this award.”

We encourage our audience to nominate themselves or a colleague for any of the four award categories:

  • Overall Lab Manager Excellence Award
  • Excellence in Lab Leadership
  • Excellence in Lab Management
  • Young Lab Manager Excellence Award

Entries should demonstrate to our judges that the nominee is passionate about their role and explain why they excel as a lab manager and leader. Share your (or your colleague’s) accomplishments and stories of success!

The deadline to enter submissions is Dec. 9, 2022. Visit summit.labmanager.com/leadershipawards to learn more about the awards, and review details about the criteria to enter.
