As senior manager of discovery operations at Biohaven, Sophie Torma has experience overseeing lab space renovations and operational buildouts in both biological and clinical research settings, as well as supporting over 60 scientists in procurement, supply chain, compound management, shipping, and other logistics. Her facilities background includes building out major lab renovations, the creation of a COVID response laboratory, and overseeing targeted upgrades in our current location. Sophie has extensive experience in turning pre-built spaces—including BSL-2 labs, clinical labs, and vivariums—into facilities optimized for current and future scientific needs. She prioritizes safety and regulatory compliance by implementing engineering controls that enable researchers to advance science while enforcing a culture of safety and adherence.
