- Scott Hanton – editorial director
Scott spent 30 years as a research chemist, lab manager, and business leader at Air Products and Intertek. He earned a BS in chemistry from Michigan State University and a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Scott is an active member of ACS, ASMS, and ALMA. Scott married his high school sweetheart, and they have one son. Scott is motivated by excellence, happiness, and kindness. He most enjoys helping people and solving problems. Away from work Scott enjoys working outside in the yard, playing strategy games, and coaching youth sports.
- Lauren Everett – managing editor
Lauren holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from SUNY New Paltz and has nearly a decade of experience in news reporting, feature writing, and editing. She oversees the production of Lab Manager’s editorial print and online content, and works with internal and freelance writers to deliver high-quality articles. Lauren enjoys spending her spare time hiking, snowboarding, and keeping up with her toddler.
- Jonathan Klane – senior safety editor
Jonathan's EHS and risk career spans more than three decades in various roles as a consultant, trainer, professor, embedded safety director for two colleges of engineering, and now writing for Lab Manager. He is a PhD candidate in human and social dimensions of science and technology at Arizona State University where he studies our risk perceptions and the effects of storytelling.
- MaryBeth DiDonna – lab design and digital events editor
MaryBeth's work for the lab design section of the publication examines the challenges that project teams face when designing or building a new or renovated laboratory, and the communication and collaboration strategies used by architects, engineers, lab planners, and others when working with lab and facility managers to complete a project. She organizes and moderates the webinars and virtual conferences for Lab Manager as well as other LMG brands, helping speakers deliver educational, evergreen content to viewers who wish to optimize their labs and build their leadership skills.
MaryBeth has a bachelor of arts degree in English from New Jersey City University. Her hobbies include cooking and baking, birdwatching, and travel. She lives with her husband, their young daughter, and three cats in northern New Jersey.
