Lab Manager Launches Leadership Excellence Awards
Inaugural awards program will celebrate lab leaders who go above and beyond for their organization and staff
Lab Manager is proud to announce the launch of its Leadership Excellence Awards, a program developed to recognize individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and management skills within their scientific organizations.
The team at Lab Manager recognizes the unique and pivotal role our readers have within their organizations. Lab managers not only oversee the scientific work of the lab, but they also need to be experts in people management, business management, and workplace safety. Each of these areas present their own challenges, and it is the responsibility of the lab manager to overcome these challenges.
The best lab leaders ensure that the business side of the lab is successful and goals are being met, if not exceeded; that the staff is motivated, healthy, and equipped with the resources they need to thrive; and that the overall lab culture promotes innovation and collaboration. Through the Leadership Excellence Awards, Lab Manager will celebrate individuals who exemplify all the skills and traits that define a truly exceptional leader in the lab.
So, we want to hear from you! We are currently accepting nominations for the Leadership Excellence Awards in four award categories: Overall Lab Manager Excellence Award, Excellence in Lab Management, Excellence in Lab Leadership, and the Young Lab Manager Excellence Award. You are invited to self-nominate or nominate a colleague for any category. Entries should demonstrate to our judges that the nominee is passionate about their role and explain why they excel as a lab manager and leader. Share your (or your colleague’s) accomplishments and stories of success!
Winners of the Leadership Excellence Awards will be invited to attend the Lab Manager Leadership Summit in Baltimore, MD, May 16-18, 2022. During the summit, the Lab Manager team will honor the winners during a brief ceremony.
