Horizon Discovery Group plc and Thermo Fisher Scientific Sign Supply and Commercialization Agreement
Horizon Discovery Group plc (LSE:HZD) (Horizon), the international life science company supplying research tools and services that power genomics research and the development of personalized medicines, today (Apr. 20) announced it has signed a supply and commercialization agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science.

Dartmouth researchers have developed a protocol that permits cells harvested from melanoma tumors in mice to grow readily in cell culture. Their findings were published in an article, Multiple murine BRafV600E melanoma cell lines with sensitivity to PLX4032, in the January 25, 2014 issue of Pigment Cell & Melanoma Research.


Choosing an in vitro model system that faithfully represents the natural physiology of the cell being studied is fundamental to understanding its in vivo function. Cultures of primary cell isolates retain their physiology and karyotype after isolation, but cultures may be difficult to prepare and are susceptible to contamination.
