With the aim of increasing sample integrity, designers have looked at cold storage energy sinks, associated components and subsystems to increase system efficiency. As a result, a new breed of cold storage provides greater sample protection while being kinder to the environment.
In addition to being able to reach and maintain temperatures as low as -86 C, today's ultra-low temperature laboratory freezers need to provide greater energy efficiency, smaller footprints, uniform temperature stability, and alarm system reliability.
In terms of performance, users should keep in mind that the warm-up time during a power failure, pull down time, uniformity and recovery time after a door opening are all critical to the daily conditions that samples are subjected to.
