Job Satisfaction

10 years after graduating, many have found financially solid and meaningful employment in the private sector, according to a new report from the American Institute of Physics.

Good news for laboratory supervisors–their position has made CNN Money’s top 10 list of quickest-growing jobs in America, released Jan. 27.

In the past few years I’ve heard more and more phrases like “work spouse,” “work bestie,” and “office neighbor.” In fact, it’s not uncommon for adults to meet at least one of their close friends through work. With work imitating life these days, “breakups,” no doubt, can affect us on the job, too.

Job satisfaction is often an elusive concept: performing— for pay—a task or a series of tasks that truly fulfill a person. Fulfillment, however, carries a different meaning for each individual. Some may find that competitive compensation provides satisfaction on the job, while others find gratification in recognition from their peers.
