An international collaboration with strong Aggie ties has figured out how to make a longer cotton fiber -- information that a Texas A&M University biologist believes could potentially have a multi-billion-dollar impact on the global cotton industry and help cotton farmers fend off increasing competition from synthetic fibers.

WATKINSVILLE — Scientists working at the University of Georgia’s newest farm recently met to discuss research they’re conducting and to start building new research initiatives for the future.

A team of University of Arizona researchers is looking at ways to grow strawberries hydroponically in a greenhouse.

Crop growers, wine grape and other fruit growers, food processors and even concrete makers all benefit from water sensors for accurate, steady and numerous moisture readings. But current sensors are large, may cost thousands of dollars and often must be read manually.
